Elizabeth G. Nabel, M.D., is the Director of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), where she oversees a national research portfolio to help prevent, diagnose, and treat heart, lung, and blood diseases.

As Director, Dr. Nabel also leads The Heart Truth, a national awareness campaign for women about heart disease. This landmark movement is being embraced by millions who share the common goal of better heart health for all women.

Dr. Nabel is an elected member serving on several health boards. She also serves on the editorial board of many scientific journals, is the author of more than 250 scientific publications, and has mentored more than 50 students and fellows.
