Judith (Judy) Palfrey, MD, FAAP - Olympic Torchbearer | Coca-Cola

Judith S. (Judy) Palfrey, MD, FAAP, is the 2009-2010 President of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). The AAP is the nation's largest pediatric organization, with a membership of 60,000 doctors and specialists. During her presidential year for the American Academy of Pediatrics,
Dr. Palfrey is working to draw attention to the needs of children around the world. The Olympics reminds us all of the hope, aspiration and achievement that children and youth represent. The AAP's global health programs create partnerships to promote the health and well being of children around the world. Dr. Palfrey encourages those who wish to support the AAP in its efforts during this Olympic season to consider making a donation to the AAP Friends of Children Fund – International. Dr. Palfrey is a general pediatrician, child advocate and the T. Berry Brazelton Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School. She directs the Children's International Pediatric Center, Children's Hospital in Boston. She is also Master of Adams House at Harvard College with her husband, Dr. Sean Palfrey. She has written five books and more than 100 articles dealing with improving child health systems. She has mentored hundreds of medical students, residents and fellows. Judy and Sean have 3 children and 3 grandchildren.
