President of the American College of Sports Medicine

Dr. Pivarnik is the current president of the American College of Sports Medicine, the largest exercise science and sports medicine organization in the world.
In addition to serving as Director of both the Center for Physical Activity and Health and the Human Energy Research Laboratory at Michigan State University, Dr. Pivarnik is also a Professor of Kinesiology and Epidemiology and serves as the university's research integrity officer.
In 2008, Dr. Pivarnik created the section on pregnancy and postpartum activity for the Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans released by the Department of Health and Human Services.
He is an active fellow in the American Academy of Kinesiology and Physical Education and a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine.
