And America’s Favorite Park Is...

Updated: 8/9/2011 Q. What is America Is Your Park? A. America Is Your Park is a program that encourages people of all ages to get active in the park this summer. In the process, people can vote for their favorite national, state or local park to win a recreation grant up to $100,000 from the Coca-Cola Live Positively initiative. These grants will be used to restore, rebuild or enhance places within the park to play or be active. Q. Is there only one winner? A.Only one park will receive the title of "America’s Favorite Park" but grants will be given to the three parks that receive the most votes by September 6, 2011. Grants will be awarded in the following amounts: First place – $100,000, Second place – $50,000 and Third place – $25,000. These grants are made possible by the Coca-Cola Live Positively initiative. Q. Can the parks use the grants for anything? A. The grants will be used to restore, rebuild or enhance places within the park where people can play or be active. But it’s ultimately up to winning parks to determine exactly what their needs are — maybe it’s a new bike path or bike racks, perhaps a new hiking trail or nets for the basketball courts. Q. When does the contest begin? A.Voting officially begins at 12 a.m. Eastern Time on Wednesday, June 29, 2011. Q. When does the contest end? A.Voting officially ends at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on Tuesday, September 6, 2011. Q. When will the winning parks be announced?
