Viva El Club del Balon Rojo!

Viva Club del Balon Rojo!

Club del Balon Rojo is dedicated to promoting education, community involvement and physical activity to teens involved in Boys & Girls Clubs. Fourteen teens will be chosen to participate inClub del Balon Rojo and as a thank you, they'll get to be a ball kid during a Mexican National Team match. Participants will be selected based on the following criteria:
  • 13 to 16 years old
  • Show improvement in their grades and be in good standing with their local Boys & Girls Club
  • Must be active in his/her club athletics' initiatives
  • Participants must agree to take part on all activities associated with the Club del Balon Rojo program and receive permission from parent/guardian and be recommended by a Boys & Girls Club associate Club del Balon Rojo participants will attend workshops around three main club components: Education, Community Involvement and Athletics. The Hispanic Scholarship Fund will host educational workshops for both students and parents to discuss the importance of a college education and provide information about applying for scholarships. To help the teens give back to the community, they will tutor/mentor a younger child for a week. And the teens will also participate in a soccer clinic conducted by a collegiate soccer player and Ball-Kid Boot Camp. Members of the Club will get to be a ball kid for a Mexican National Team match here in the U.S. At the end of the program, each participant will receive a certificate of completion, transportation to the stadium, 2 tickets to the match for their parents, a uniform, a gift bag and the ultimate soccer experience they'll remember for a lifetime.
