Steven Lopez is the most decorated athlete in taekwondo history. In October, Steven became the first fighter to win five world championship titles when he captured the men's welterweight gold medal at the WTF World Taekwondo Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark. Steven also won two consecutive Olympic gold medals in 2000 and 2004, and an Olympic bronze medal in 2008.
Steven made history with his siblings at the 2005 World Championships when they all won gold, becoming the first family ever to have three siblings as World Champions in all of sports. He also won the gold medal at the 1997 World Cup Taekwondo Championships and was the 1996 Junior World Taekwondo Champion.
Steven recently served as an honorary chair of Heroes for Children, an organization that donates money directly to families of children who have been diagnosed with cancer.
