Three-time Olympian, Three-time Olympic Medalist
Angela Ruggiero, a three-time Olympic medalist and three-time World Champion, is a defenseman and leader of the U.S. Women's National Hockey team. She has her sights set on competing for the fourth time at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver. Angela currently holds the record as all-time leader in games played for Team USA and is one of the most prominent women's ice hockey players in the world.
As the first female defenseman in the Central Hockey League, Angela was the first woman non-goalie to play professional men's hockey in North America, playing with the Tulsa Oilers alongside her brother, Bill. Angela and Bill earned a place in the Hockey Hall of Fame as the first brother-sister duo to play pro hockey together.
Angela has created and runs several non-profit organizations with the goal of exposing the world to her sport and is also involved in a number of volunteer activities worldwide.
