Lips are also one of the most important parts of the face which can help in making the face brighter or dull in a matter of seconds. It is normal for the lips to be dry and flaky because of a lot of factors like dehydration, improper lip care, and a lot more.  One of the most important things that we should do is to hydrate ourselves better. Drink plenty of water, and water-rich fruits and vegetables like watermelon, cucumber, celery, etc.

There are a lot of ways how to take care of lips in summer. But choose one based on your lip concerns which can be done according to your preferences.

Here are some of the summer lip care tips and tricks to make your lips baby soft and pinkish:

  1. Hydrate yourself well. Include at least 3 to 4 litres of water every day other than your fruit and vegetable intakes. You can even add juices, soups, etc as part of your hydration.
  2. Lip balms and butter should be your go-to thing whenever you step out of the house.
  3. Use tinted lip balms if you need fun rather than going plain.
  4. SPF-based lip balms would be a perfect choice if you want to avoid pigmented lips
  5. Exfoliate the lips once in two to three days or atleast once in a week.
  6. Use ghee or any oil of your choice if you have extremely dry and chapped lips.
  7. Use almond oil or jojoba oil once or twice a week before going to bed for your dose of lip hydration.
  8. Make sure not to lick your lips every now and then so that your lips do not become drier.
  9. Remove your lipstick or tinted lip balms before going to bed.

Perfect Lip Care Routine for this Summer:

  • Exfoliate:

Use sugar + honey or oats powder + olive oil, and massage gently on your lips. There are a lot more DIY remedies available, and you can choose one that will suit your lips. Once after scrubbing for 2 to 3 mins, wipe it off with a cotton cloth or wash with lukewarm water.

You can use them once a week or twice if you have extremely dry and flaky lips.

  • Moisturize and Hydrate your Lips:

Like moisturising your face and body, it is important to moisturise your lips too. This will help in avoiding the cracks or flakiness which is occurring in the lips. Use a hydrating lip balm or lip butter with ingredients like types of butter, oil, waxes, etc.

  • SPF your Lips:

If you have pigmented lips or step out in the sun every now and then, make sure to use SPF-based lip balms. This will help in making your lips darker just like sunscreen.

  • Lipsticks:

If you are using lipsticks, go for good quality ones to protect your lips from harsh chemicals and other unwanted products. You will be able to see visible changes on your pigmented lips while using it continuously for a longer period of time.
