Youthful, glowing skin is something every woman wants to maintain for a long time. However, aging is an inevitable biological process. As humans age, skin loses elasticity and volume. Wrinkles appear, skin sags, and pigmentation occurs, rendering a dull and uneven tone.

However, there are cosmetic treatment options to reverse the signs of aging, and one is Profhilo. It is a non-surgical treatment that helps you achieve subtle but immediate hydrating and skin-tightening results. Moreover, it improves and maintains the quality of your skin. Profhilo skin treatment is safe, effective, long-lasting, and a breakthrough in anti-aging medicine.

But what exactly is it? Let us get to know that.

What is Profhilo?

Dubbed the ultimate glow giver, Profhilo is a highly purified injectable Hyaluronic Acid (HA) moisturizing treatment that delivers HA deep into the skin than any topical HA serum.

The Profhilo injection contains 62mg per 2 ml of pure hyaluronic acid, one of the highest concentrations on the market. It targets multiple layers of the skin to restore firmness, tone, and elasticity at levels you cannot achieve through skincare products alone.

Profhilo is not a filler but a HA gel with innovative bio-remodeling properties. It stimulates four types of collagen, elastin and increases adipocyte cells. It makes it an effective and natural treatment for skin laxity, lack of hydration, and tired-looking skin. It addresses anti-aging concerns while restoring the skin's natural glow.

How Does Profhilo Work?

Profhilo is made of hyaluronic acid (HA), a potent moisturizing factor naturally found in the skin, muscles, and joints. HA is hydrophilic (draws and holds water from the body), so Profhilo acts as a hydrator rather than a filler and can draw 1000 times its weight in water into the skin. It makes it fantastic for binding and retaining water molecules, hydrating the skin from within leaving it fresh, radiant, and firm.

The human body naturally produces and breaks down hyaluronic acid every day, but when we age, the process gets a little slow. Profhilo injection is injected at 5 points on each side of the face. It spreads evenly throughout the layers of the skin, drawing water along the way.

This approach works in two phases, hydrating the skin and stimulating the production of new collagen and elastin. It plumps the skin and diminishes fine lines and wrinkles while boosting the skin's radiance delivering a long-lasting serum-type effect.

Benefits

Profhilo offers various benefits that we will mention below.

  • Helps improve skin tone and texture.
  • It returns volume and gives an overall lift.
  • Increases firmness and elasticity.
  • Stimulates elastin to reduce skin laxity and improves your skin structure.
  • Hydrates the skin
  • Stimulates four types of collagen growth through a bio-remodeling process.

When Can One See The Results?

When you start the treatment, take two to three sessions one month apart. After the sessions, your skin will appear more plumper, hydrated, and youthful. Many people start seeing an improvement in their skin within a week of the treatment. However, the results will show once you are at the 6 to 8 weeks mark. This is the time it takes for the body to start producing collagen and elastin, which makes the difference in terms of results. You can take your Profhilo before and after pictures to see the visible results.

How Long Does Profhilo Last?

Profhilo skin treatment lasts for about six months. Initially, you need two treatment sessions and one session every three months to top up to get the desired results.

Who Should Get Profhilo?

Profhilo treatment is for people who see signs of aging like dull skin, loss of elasticity, wrinkles, etc. It is a hydrating treatment that helps regenerate the skin, and the results look natural.

However, additional treatments help accomplish the desired result for individuals with more maturely damaged skin. It is worth noting that pregnant and lactating women should not have Profhilo treatment.

What Problems Can Profhilo Help?

Profhilo is an excellent anti-aging treatment, clinically proven to help with a wide range of aging symptoms. It acts as a hydrator rather than a traditional dermal filler and is fantastic for those with tired, dull, and aging skin, as it provides overall more plump and luminous skin.

Profhilo can be used for:

  • Wrinkles like crow's feet, smoker's, smile, and frown lines.
  • Saggy, loose skin – on your face, neck, arms, decolletage, or hands.
  • Dull, dehydrated-looking skin.
  • Sunken skin that needs more volume.

How Profhilo Is Different From Skin Booster?

There is just one similarity between Profhilo and Skin Booster, and it is the chemical compound. Both have hyaluronic acid injected beneath the skin to undo signs of aging.

However, the type of Hyaluronic Acid used in dermal filler injections is thicker and dense than the runny consistency of Profhilo injections.

Hyaluronic Acid in Skin Boosters is combined with other ingredients, while in Profhilo, it is concentrated and purified Hyaluronic Acid.

Skin Boosters, when injected, focus only on one area at a time. But Profhilo's treatment is not restricted to just one place. It plumps, refreshes, and tightens the entire face. Once the Profhilo injections have delivered their ten shots of hydration, the Hyaluronic Acid disperses underneath the skin, spreading its moisturizing magic across the face.

Profhilo Treatment Journey

Profhilo is a two-part treatment in two sessions 4-6 weeks apart.

Before the treatment

You undergo an initial consultation where the aesthetician assesses your skin and medical history. They also explain the procedure, clinical and aesthetic benefits, risks, aftercare, and consent process for you to make an informed decision.

The aesthetician advises you to avoid blood thinners like aspirin and other anti-inflammatory drugs. Also, do not take fish oil, multivitamins, or vitamin E for at least a day before the treatment, as they can increase the appearance of bruising after the treatment.

During the treatment

The treatment takes approximately 30 minutes, depending on the number of areas treated.

Your skin is prepped for the treatment, and numbing cream is applied. You receive ten subcutaneous Profhilo injections with a Bio Aesthetic Points (BAP) injection technique. The five injection spots include the area next to the ears, laughter lines near the mouth, chin, under the eyes, and the top of the cheeks.

After the treatment

After injection, you may experience mild swelling or bruising, which dissipates within 24 hours as the product absorbs into your skin, rendering a plump and youthful-looking skin.

Avoid touching the area, and do not indulge in intense exercise, steam, and sauna for 24 hours to ensure you do not disturb or displace the Profhilo filler.

The results of the Profhilo treatment are only seen four weeks after the second treatment. A follow-up appointment is essential to make sure that there are no problems.

What Are The Side Effects?

As with all non-surgical aesthetic treatments, there are minor side effects, such as minor bruising or swelling at the injection sites. These do not usually occur, but when they do, they subside within a day.

Profhilo is not for people with bleeding disorders, immune-compromised disorders, or people allergic to Hyaluronic Acid.

How Much Does Profhilo Cost?

Profhilo is injected in a standard pattern, spreading 2 millimeters over ten injection points, so the cost is not dependent on how much is used.

The price depends on which clinic you choose, the provider's experience level, the location, and the number of sessions.
