What does mechanical engineering entail?

Mechatronic engineering is the practise of designing electromechanical systems that are controlled by computers. The main idea is that by integrating the mechanical system's design with that of the electrical/electronic and computer control components, a comprehensive system is produced.

A few examples of mechatronic systems (ABS) include a CD or DVD player, a computer hard drive, a fly-by-wire aircraft control system, and an anti-lock braking system. Even though the majority of these products are mechanical in nature, they could not function without the electrical and computer control systems, which were integrated into their design.
