Why on earth would you scrap your car?

Why would you scrap your vehicle?

In short, because you have to.

Accidents and age can catch up with a vehicle and make it not worth repairing your car after an accident or breakdown. Sometimes it can cost more than replacing an older vehicle entirely, body, engines or exhaust.

And unfortunately, you can't just leave your car or wheel it into a local body of water. Which leaves you with only two choices as to what to do with your vehicle.

neighbors and a detour when carrying your groceries inside.

Choice number two is to scrap the car and pocket the money.

So it's no wonder people are more likely to choose the second option.

What do you need?

But getting rid of your engine doesn't just have to be Złomowanie pojazdu  handed in at a junkyard and watch it get dumped in a big trash compactor. Unfortunately you will need a few things.

1) A vehicle

Obviously, you're going to have a very hard time scrapping something you don't have. So you must be in possession of a broken down or otherwise unwanted motor vehicle that you wish to dispose of.

2) A logbook

You must prove that you own the car in question, that it is not stolen and that it can be scrapped. So you need your log for that.

3) A scrapping company

While you could theoretically scrap your own car with a hammer, it would take ages and you wouldn't get paid for it. So you need a scrapping company. A good one preferably, because there are a few things they need to do for you...

Who should you contact?

It is important to go with a good scrapping company as it will make the whole process easier for you.

Look for important tasks that they perform on your behalf. Things like picking up the vehicle so you don't have to tow (or push) it. Doing the paperwork so you don't have to waste your afternoon checking boxes and filling out forms. And whether they are environmentally friendly or not. Because getting a new car is a lot easier than getting a new planet.

And last but not least , make sure they give you a fair price for your write-off or non-runner. Because that could well be the down payment for your next car.
